Round 2 Pairings & Starting Times

Angelillo started out his round hot, carding a hole-out eagle on the first before closing out his front nine with another eagle on the par-five, ninth for a five-under par 31.

“If you don’t eagle the first hole you can’t eagle them all,” joked Angelillo following his round. “I hit a great drive in the middle of the fairway about 86 yards from the pin. I just wanted to hit it 90 yards and see it come back. I saw it came back and it went in the hole. It was a great start.”

A sixty-foot putt for birdie dropped on the tenth hole for Angelillo, as he would close out his round blemish-free the rest of the way.

“It was a complete round. I hit it in spots where I could get it close to some pins,” said Angelillo. “I love this tournament. It’s one of my favorite tournaments of the year so I really try and prepare to compete in this one.”

Angelillo, who won this event in 2021 and 2018 and finished as the runner-up in both 2022 and 2020, will look to continue his strong play into round two.

“I’m going to try and do the same thing I did today. I hit it in play and hit a lot of fairways. This is the first time I’ve played Rossmoor, but it suits my game pretty well.” said Angelillo. “I’ve got to continue to execute on shots. I’m just happy to be playing tomorrow.”

Trailing Angelillo in a tie for second place with a score of three-under 69 are Mike Paduano and Yoon Choi. The 36-hole championship will conclude on Tuesday afternoon with tee times beginning at 8:00 a.m.
