Angelillo started the round blemish-free before two consecutive bogeys on No. 8 and 9. Angelillo stayed persistent and recorded three birdies on the back nine. Holes 16 and 17 were critical for today’s success.

“I hit it into the fescue on No. 16 and my son, Michael, found it,” said Angelillo. “I chipped it out and made a 15-foot putt for par. I missed the green on the next one and hit a chip before another 15-foot putt for par which was good.”

Angelillo is looking to claim his fourth Pre-Senior title after winning in 2023, 2021, and 2018. His familiarity and success in this event helps build his momentum heading into the final day.

“I just love competing,” expressed Angelillo. “I think about how I grinded through a couple of holes and it’s because it means something to me and everyone else here. I’m excited for tomorrow.”

Behind Angelillo, with a score of even-par 72, is two-time Open Champion Brian Komline.

Twenty-five players have made the cut at 9-over par, 81 or better. The championship will conclude on Wednesday with tee times beginning at 7:30 a.m.
