A Great Season Of Golf Ahead

A Great Season Of Golf Ahead

The NJSGA is embarking on its 112th year and there is no better time than now to be associated with the NJSGA whether as a member golfer, member club, volunteer, and/or part of the staff.

It all starts with a remarkable 2012 Championship Schedule. The NJSGA Mid-Amateur, the first major of the year, will be held on May 1 -3, at Galloway National, one of the most beautiful and most difficult golf courses in the state. Indeed, it is an ideal test for the New Jersey’s elite 30 and above male amateurs. The next major is the NJSGA Amateur, also in its 112th year, which is slated for one of the most well known and historic clubs in the US, Baltusrol Golf Club. Held on June 5 - 7, the championship will test the best of the best on the Lower and Upper courses at Baltusrol. In July, we have our third major at the Jersey Shore’s elite Manasquan River Golf Club, July 10 - 12. The Women’s Amateur will be held at the hilly and pristine Crestmont CC on July 30 - to Aug 2. The list of great championship venues doesn’t stop with the NJSGA majors – the 2012 schedule is now available for public view under Championships at www.njsga.org.

If you’re not the best of the best and/or don’t expect to be competing in any of our state championships this year, the NJSGA has the perfect venue for you in the Member Golf Days (MGD’s). This will be the second year of the MGD series, which was initiated to give NJSGA members of different skill levels an opportunity to compete in an NJSGA style event, but with a low stress, fun, and competitive Net format held at an exclusive NJ golf course. Indeed, we have a great selection of golf courses to host the MGD’s, beginning with two classic Donald Ross designs in the northeastern part of the state with Knickerbocker CC and Crestmont CC. In addition, we have Beacon Hill GC in Atlantic Highlands and the new private club in Long Valley, Black Oak Golf Club.
