2024 NJSGA NGWSD Set for February 7; Register Now
KENILWORTH, N.J. – The New Jersey State Golf Association (NJSGA) is eager to celebrate National Girls and Women in Sports Day on Wednesday, February 7 as it hosts 'Next on the Tee: #thestateofgolf Celebrates #NGWSD' at the USGA Headquarters in Liberty Corner, N.J.
Next on the Tee: #thestateofgolf Celebrates #NGWSD will help introduce, excite, and inspire girls. Females that are attending high school and college locally are eligible to register for this event.
Four female panelists will highlight the evening - Alyson Ramsey Johnson, Gia Liwski, Tracy Parsons and Julie Peluso.

About Alyson
As the President and CEO of Gilly Group, Alyson focuses on sports marketing, PR, event production, tournament management, and sponsorship activation and has worked with clients including various private golf clubs, across all of golf’s governing bodies, and with various golf brands, talent, and properties. Additionally, Johnson represents Profesional Golfers (PGA TOUR and LPGA TOUR) as well as on-air talent and broadcasters.
Prior to launching Gilly Group in September 2015, Johnson spent eight years as Senior Vice President of Marketing and Communications for Wyndham Worldwide, where she oversaw marketing, internal and external communications and media relations, branding, philanthropy, and sports marketing, as well as the Wyndham Championship on the PGA TOUR. Prior to joining Wyndham Worldwide in 2007, Johnson held a variety of sales, marketing and communications positions with various golf organizations, including the New Jersey State Golf Association, the 2005 PGA Championship at Baltusrol, Hamilton Farm Golf Club, the HSBC Women’s World Match Play event, and The Academy of Golf at Royce Brook.
In addition, Alyson is on the Board of Trustees for the New Jersey State Golf Association (NJSGA) and has served on the Foundation Board for the NJ Section of the PGA of America (NJPGA) and the American Junior Golf Association Foundation (AJGA). She resides in Florida with her three children.
About Gia
Gia Liwski is a LPGA Class A with almost 25 years of teaching experience and the current Teaching Professional at Fiddler’s Elbow Country Club in Bedminster, New Jersey.
Gia has most recently been named LPGA National Teacher of the Year, she an LPGA Top 50 Instructor, was the LPGA Northeast Teacher of the Year for both 2020 & 2022, ranked by Golf Digest as one of the Top 5 teachers in New Jersey, and one of Golf Digest’s Best Young Teachers in America.
As the founder and Host of Golf Experiences For Her®, Gia’s events company marries learning the game of golf with sophisticated lifestyle experiences, creating a very special and fully customizable day for her clients. Gia is the ultimate guest instructor, ready to create and entertain at ladies events, corporate golf days and couples golf schools in New Jersey and around the country. Gia’s events and instruction has been featured on numerous podcasts as well as in Golf Digest, Golf Magazine, Golf For Women Magazine, Golf Kitchen, amongst others.
Additionally, having traveled the world as host to two different golf-lifestyle television programs, Gia has a unique perspective on golf and the lifestyle that goes with it. Gia has spent the past 19 years working closely with and learning from her mentor, Mike Adams, and approaches her instruction with an emphasis on BioSwing Dynamics and The Ultimate Golf Lesson. Gia’s instruction is widely recognized as bio-mechanically oriented, clearly communicated, and she is a positive source of motivation for her students, which range from scratch to first-time golfers. One of the tenets of her instruction is teaching her students to swing the club in the best way to suit their individual physicality.
Gia is a wife, mother of three, and lives in Tewksbury, New Jersey.
About Tracy
Tracy Parsons serves as the Championship Director for the U.S. Girls’ Junior and U.S. Women’s Mid-Amateur Championships. She joined the USGA in January 2015 after spending the previous three seasons as Director of Women’s Golf at the Tennessee Golf Association in Franklin. Prior to her time in golf administration, Tracy served as the Assistant Women’s Golf Coach at the University of Texas (2007-12) and Vanderbilt University (2004-07). She also served as Program Director for the Tennessee Golf Foundation (2003-04), organizing and implementing golf programs for beginners ages 4-17.
Tracy has a Bachelor’s degree in English and Master’s in Sport Administration from Belmont University (Tennessee), where she was a member of the Women’s Golf Team.
About Julie
Current Director of Member Relations at Essex Fells Country Club, Julie Peluso has been a staple in New Jersey golf for years. A former Division I golfer at the University of Hartford, Julie played on the Futures Golf Tour from 1999-2006, competed in two LPGA Tour events and is now a PGA and LPGA Class A Member. Along with serving as an LPGA USGA Girls Golf Coach, she has had a hand in the promotion of the LPGA Cognizant Founders Cup at Upper Montclair Country Club. She is a mother of two daughters.
Since 1987, National Girls and Women in Sports Day has been a day to recognize females and female sports. In order to grow the game of golf, girls and women must be involved.
As part of the evening, the NJSGA will offer a free NJSGA membership to all females 18 and under. Benefits of an NJSGA membership includes a GHIN number, Member Golf Days, championships, seminars, and networking events. Also, NJSGA members receive New Jersey Golf Magazine, the NJSGA's official publication, in addition to E-Links, the NJSGA’s official email newsletter. The NJSGA offers a total of nine girls and women’s championships as well as Women’s Golf Days and a slew of member benefits. There are also plenty of local and regional golf opportunities for girls around the Metropolitan area. Information on these resources will be provided at the event.
Registration for Next on the Tee: #thestateofgolf Celebrates #NGWSD is currently open and is required in order to attend. The cost of registration is $20 per attendee, including parents, guardians and students.
