14 Teams Head to 91st Four-Ball Championship Following Qualifier at LBI National
LITTLE EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP, N.J. – Following an 18-hole qualifier at LBI National Golf & Resort on Tuesday, May 2, 14 teams will advance to compete in the 91st Four-Ball Championship at Hamilton Farm Golf Club from May 16-18.
On a blustery day in Little Egg Harbor Township, two duos in Keith Ryan and Corey Brigham and Lou Tonon and Michael Winton shared medalist honors with scores of 3-under par 69s.
The combo of Ryan and Brigham caught fire down the stretch making birdie on three of the final four holes.
“It was awesome playing together. Earlier in the round we missed a few putts, but we kept grinding and fortune turned our way.” Brigham said.
“For Corey and I, we have a history in the Four-Ball Championship. We made the semifinals in 1996,” Ryan said. “Our common thread is we always like to play golf and enjoy each other’s company together. Spending more time with him is always a pleasure.”
Tonon and Winton also closed out their respective round strong, playing blemish-free golf for the final 13 holes and firing four birdies along the way to claim a share of the top spot on the leaderboard.
Pairings and starting times for the remaining qualifier at Oak Hill Golf Club on Wednesday, May 3 are available.
