Hominy Hill is the crown jewel of the Monmouth County Park System’s golf courses. This classic Robert Trent Jones design is often rated as New Jersey’s #1 public golf course. It has been named by NJ.comand Inside Jersey as one of New Jersey's "10 Best Golf Courses for the Money." It has been voted the Best Public Golf Course in the state by New Jersey Monthly magazine’s readers.
Hominy Hill has been the host of two USGA National Amateur Public Links championships and numerous regional championship tournaments. The course measures 7,049 yards from the blue tees and has USGA course and slope ratings of 73.8 and 135 from the blue tees. 138 bunkers are scattered throughout the course, with water coming into play at four holes. Seasonal wildflowers enhance out-of-play areas.
Course amenities include a well-stocked golf center, GHIN handicapping, food concession snack bar, warm-up range, locker rooms with showers, and an immaculately manicured putting green. There is also a one mile walking trail.
Tee times are available through the tee time reservation system with the purchase of a Monmouth County Resident ID card or a Non-Resident Reservation I.D. Card. Reserve a tee time online or call 732-758-8383.
Tee it Forward: In conjunction with the PGA and USGA, Hominy Hill has established a set of “Tee it Forward” markers. The markers enable players to play from appropriate distances based on their average length off of the tee. “Simply put, TEE IT FORWARD can make golf much more fun for millions of people,” said PGA of America President Allen Wronowski. “We believe that by moving up to another set of tees, golfers will experience an exciting, new approach to the game that will produce more enjoyment and elevate their desire to come back and play even more golf."
