Team Handicap Limit (total): 24.0 as of the close of entries.
Waiting List Policy:
The championship field will be limited to 60 teams. Each team's entry status will remain pending until the close of entries at which point the field will be sorted by team total handicap index and added to field until full. All remaining teams will be put on a waitlist.
Transportation:
Players will be required to use a motorized cart. Players will NOT be permitted to walk and carry their own bags.
Championship Information & Format:
Teams are comprised of two male golfers, both 55 years of age or older (as of May 21, 2024). Players are NOT REQUIRED to be from the same NJSGA Member Club. When combined, the total team Handicap must be 24.0 or less as of the close of entries. Format is 18-Holes, Stroke Play; Gross and Net Scoring. Four-Ball Format; players receive 85% of Course Handicap. In the event of a tie for the championship (Low Gross), a hole-by-hole playoff will take place after the conclusion of play. All other ties will be broken according to the USGA Method for Matching of Cards.
Eligibility Requirements & Formation of Teams:
Teams are formed by two male amateur golfers 55 years of age or older, as of May 21, 2024, who's combined USGA Handicap Index does NOT exceed 24.0. Players are NOT REQUIRED to be from the same NJSGA Member Club.
Entries are open to teams who meet ALL of the following regulations:
- Both entrants must possess UNQUESTIONABLE Amateur Status.
- Both entrants must be age 55 or older on May 21, 2024
- Both entrants must meet ALL of these Handicap and Membership Requirements:
- Both entrants MUST possess an ACTIVE and VALID USGA Handicap Index as of the close of entries, through a NJSGA Member Club or Course in good standing with the NJSGA (public or private). When combined, the team total Handicap Index cannot exceed 24.0.
- Both entrants MUST be in good standing AND appear on the Official Handicap Roster at the Club/Course to which they are affiliated at the TIME OF ENTRY.
- Both entrants must maintain their good standing and remain on the Official Handicap Roster (possess an active and valid USGA Handicap) at their member club/course through the Championship proper.
- If a player enters a NJSGA Championship from a public facility or a Club Without Real Estate, he MUST be a permanent resident of New Jersey.
Prizes:
The perpetual Championship Trophy will be presented to the Champions and engraved with their names. Prizes awarded to the Gross and Net champions, runners-up and third place finishers
FINAL DECISION REGARDING ACCEPTANCE OF ENTRIES IS AT THE DISCRETION OF THE NJSGA. THE NJSGA RESERVES THE RIGHT TO REJECT OR WITHDRAW AN ENTRY AT ANY TIME, BEFORE OR DURING A COMPETITION OR MODIFY THE CHAMPIONSHIP PROGRAM ANYTIME, IN ITS DISCRETION.
